Would a Taser work on a bear if one was being attacked?

Say you were backpacking in say the Rockies and hunting was restricted or something, but for fear of bear attacks in the area... would a Taser work as a self defense mechanism? Or would it just make the angry bear MORE ANGRY? They say that high quality Tasers can take down the largest man: So... would one translate to the animal world?
