Who else gets completely baffled by the concept of religion and how it still exists?

I was walking to college the other day and started to think about religion and its ridiculousness.. I always have really. However as I was walking it actually hit me. How the hell are people still following that cr*p? Haven't we moved out of the dark ages of oppression and fear? What is its relevance in todays society? cheers x
