Okay is it just me or am I missing something here?

Okay my boyfriend filed for divorce from his ex 11 months ago because she cheated on him and took of with another man well day before yesterday she finally paid off her lawyer and i get a text from my boyfriend saying we should break up because his lawyer said he was gonna be monitored and followed basically and could have his phone records checked but this makes no since because her lawyer knows she has a boyfriend and was even living with one and his ex knows about me and hes been acting very shady about things I feel like somethings missing and not making any since.
